All of us are physically alive, but too many of us are the walking dead. This week Alli shows us how the life available in Jesus is the way to live everyday truly, deeply alive.
Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...
Welcome to the Weekend-Follow Up This is the group part of the Bible Challenge, so your questions are based on specific Bible passages from the weekend message. Each week, your group will discover what God might be saying to you, and how you can respond through a group discussion.
What is your go-to guilty pleasure snack? When do you find you often go for it? When you’re stressed, bored, sad? Maybe it’s all of the above or something else.
What stood out to you most from this week’s message?
Think about a time where you felt spiritually dead. What was it like? What thoughts and emotions consumed you? How’d you spend your time?
Read Ephesians 2:1-3. What area(s) of your life are led by your cravings? If you’re feeling extra bold to share, what cravings are driving you?
In what ways do you try to either quickly satisfy or resist or control your cravings? Would you say those behaviors lead to more life or death? Why?
Read Ephesians 2:4-7. How does God’s grace help you live, fully alive? What would it look like to have more of Jesus in your life?
Try stopping something this week. What’s that one thing you feel like you can test giving up? Grab a friend from the group to text when it feels really hard. Remind each other of God’s grace and kindness.
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for destroying the chains of sin that bind us. Life, please continue to overwhelm death, and raise us out of our coffins.” Amen.”
