No matter what darkness you might be facing in your life or if you feel lost, there is always a light to guide you.
Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...
Welcome to the Weekend-Follow Up This is the group part of the Bible Challenge, so your questions are based on specific Bible passages from the weekend message. Each week, your group will discover what God might be saying to you, and how you can respond through a group discussion.
What’s one thing that happened this past week that made it a bit brighter for you?
What stood out to you most from this week’s message?
Read Ephesians 5:8-9. What do you believe it means to “walk in the light”? What aspects of walking in the light would you say are in your daily life?
In what areas of your life do you feel like you’re stumbling in the darkness?
What sorts of things do you believe about yourself when you’re in the dark?
What makes finding the light hard?
Read 1 Peter 2:9. How might believing you are uniquely chosen and empowered by God impact where you feel like you’re struggling?
What is one way you can look to Jesus and not to darkness this week?
Thankfully, we don’t have to find the light alone. Who is someone (or a group of people) you can ask to walk with you in the light this week?
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for being the ultimate light that frees us from the darkness. Thank you for making us into your lights. Guide me when we find ourselves lost in the darkness, reignite us, and help us remember who we are in you. Amen.”
