Appalachia

Appalachia encompasses 13 states and 420 counties, the edges of which are within two to four hours of our Ohio and Kentucky church locations. It’s an area rich in tradition, culture, values, and natural beauty, yet 82 of its counties are categorized as economically distressed with high concentrations of poverty, unemployment, poor health, and severe educational disparities. Though much progress has been made in the past few decades, there is still a significant gap to bring Appalachia to parity in enjoying the economic and living conditions of the rest of the country. You can go with a team and experience the people and the beauty of Appalachia in Eastern Kentucky while providing hands-on work to improve living conditions for families in the area.

Restavek Freedom is freeing children, engaging families, and transforming hearts. We believe that by locking arms with the Restavek Freedom team, we can end child slavery in our lifetime.
